Political Wrap-Up
I already loved Obama and now I'm managing to like him more. I will fight for him, but unlike every single person I know, I won't bitch about it when I end up voting for Hillary in the general election.
To the people mad at Democrats for pushing their unbinding resolution instead of making a bigger move: you're wrong, this is a good move, and sets the Democrats up well. To the people mad at Democrats for pushing their unbinding resolution instead of lying down and letting the executive do whatever it wants: read up on what "co-equal" means.
To Putin: you're right, but you're also a tool.
To Gates: amazing, fantastic response to Putin. Congratulations, and welcome.
Hillary may actually get in trouble in the primaries because of her Iraq war stance, and refusal to say it was a mistake. Interesting. Though her centrist view will help her in the general.
The Republicans have a mormon, a divorced pro-choice gun control advocate, and McCain, who the far right doesn't like, and independents are leaving in droves. I'm thrilled they're run by an unbending far right coalition, because it means they can't compete this cycle.
My wife tells me the Obama 60 Minutes piece was "typical 60 minutes crap". I haven't seen any other reviews, but I know I like Obama and I've never respected 60 Minutes.
The single worst thing this administration has done is make an already cynical public even more cynical towards their own country. If Clinton told me that Iran was helping Iraq, I'd believe him (or her). But when Bush/Cheney says it, I just assume they're lying. It's a safe bet the evidence is "sexed up", as the Brits warned us so long ago.
