IM Translations

My friends have a long history of sending me links through instant messengers and celebrating when I haven't seen them already.  I spend a lot of time on the web, so I've generally seen the most famous links.  Sometimes I feel like Simon on American Idol (a show I have never watched but I hear he's a jerk) auditioning links.

I have a few common responses.

Heh
By far my most common.  "I enjoy this, thank you."

Hehe
Very uncommon.  "This is silly"

Eh
Common when someone sends me a link that's clearly trying to get me riled up.  "I don't want to get into a big discussion, but I disapprove of this."

Ha.
Grudging congratulations.

"actually laughing out loud".  I've only used this one or two times, but I feel like giving credit where it's due.  If I'm actually laughing, an overused "lol" just won't express the entirety of my mirth.

High praise indeed.  Usually precedes a long discussion about the majesty of the link.
